Use LMS Features to Assign Academic Writer Lessons

Students can access Academic Writer and PsycLearn via access codes (from your campus bookstore), direct purchase from APA, or inclusive access (typically paid for through student or lab fees.) If you have questions about changing how your students access Academic Writer, please discuss your options with your Partnership Manager. If your students will be accessing Academic Writer or PsycLearn using access codes or direct purchase, there are a few things to keep in mind. If students are enrolled in multiple courses in the same term that require Academic Writer, they do not need to purchase more than one access code! (They may be prompted to log in to their account again, but access will be recognized.) Academic Writer access codes are available in semester or year-long increments. By default, students will have the option to purchase Academic Writer access directly, instead of applying a code. When students use direct purchase instead of a code, their access is tied to their account, and they will not receive a separate code. For bundles of Academic Writer and any PsycLearn course accessing both products with one access code, students must enter their code in PsycLearn. They will not be prompted again for their code in Academic Writer. You may also provide students these links to our Learning Commons article about entering Academic Writer or PsycLearn access codes and this PDF about retrieving access codes purchased through Barnes & Noble or VitalSource.
